Acrobats of the sky
Pilots of model airplanes from Italy and abroad have had their eye on the Alpe di Siusi for a while now. The Spitzbühl, an exposed cliff reaching 1,980 m.a.s.l., is considered one of the most beloved flying spots in the areas. Outstanding thermal conditions provide the model airplanes with enough hot air to reach dizzying heights. However, pilots do need to be quite skilled if they want to fly in this area. This location is ideal even for curious onlookers, as it can be easily reached by cable car. This way, they too can enjoy the spectacle from up close. Tourists are also attracted by the sunny terrace of one of the mountain huts and a view over the Stelvio, Corno del Renon, the Brenta Alps and Gruppo dell’Adamello, and stretching out to the Ortles, Venoste, Stubai, and Aurine Alps.
